SINGLES The Yellow Jackets quickly extended their lead in singles action, picking up straight-set wins from Cruz, Garcia Gross and Lee to clinch the match. The Cardinals could not close out the match as Tech forced a tiebreak at 6-6 and held for a 7-6 (5) victory. Tech held a 5-4 advantage, but Louisville took the next two games for a 6-5 lead. Tech completed the sweep of doubles play, capturing a tiebreak win on court two as Kate Sharabura and Monika Dedaj topped Louisville’s Sasha Gorchanyuk and Maria Campos. Bilchev and Cruz snapped the Cardinals’ late rally, winning the next two games for a 7-5 victory, giving Tech the 1-0 match lead. But Louisville knotted the match at 5-all. Tech erased an early 2-1 deficit, grabbing a 4-3 edge and opened a 5-4 advantage. The point was clinched on court one where Kylie Bilchev and Alejandra Cruz held for a 7-5 win over Andrea DiPalma and Rhea Verma.
